How to sign up for the Vizio Smart TV AirPlay beta?

At CES 2019, many TV manufacturers announced the addition of Apple AirPlay to their TVs. Vizio Smart TV promised that many existing TVs dating back to 2016 would also receive these features. Now you can join the beta and get AirPlay soon.

AirPlay will allow you to send content from your iPhone, iPad or Mac to your Vizio TV. For example, you can stream iTunes videos, play music from Apple Music, or even cast your iPhone or Mac screen to your TV.

HomeKit support means you can use Siri to control your TV. Connecting and disconnecting the TV, adjusting the volume and starting playback. Using an iPhone, iPad or HomePod.

As Vizio told us, SmartCast 3.0 software with these new features should be available to everyone in Q2 2019.

But, Q1 2019. You can join Vizio's beta program and get it soon. This will allow you to install the SmartCast 3.0 beta version on your TV. So you may run into some bugs if you jump before it's ready for everyone.

Which Vizio Smart TV models are compatible?

If you are interested, you can now sign up for the Vizio SmartCast 3.0 beta if you live in the United States or Canada. Go to the Vizio sign up page and enter your email address to get started. It seems that Vizio hasn't released the beta software yet. But you'll be the first to know when Vizio does.

According to Apple, the following TVs will receive SmartCast 3.0 software:

VIZIO P-Series Quantum X (2019)
VIZIO P-Series Quantum (2019 and 2018)
VIZIO P Series (2018, 2017 and 2016)
VIZIO M-Series Quantum (2019)
VIZIO M Series (2018, 2017 and 2016)
VIZIO E Series (2018, 2017, and 2016 UHD models)
VIZIO V Series (2019)
VIZIO D-series (2018)

Other Vizio TVs will not receive the SmartCast 3.0 software update as far as we know.
